Privacy policy

This policy explains how the details you send through this website are used, and what you can ask for.

Who is responsible

Samuel Lovell trading as Lovell Heating & Gas is a Gas Safe registered engineer (no. 640594) based in Hemel Hempstead. Samuel Lovell decides how your details are used, which makes him the “controller” under UK data protection law.

Information collected

A quote request collects what you enter in the form:

• the type of job, your description of it and the postcode where it is
• your name, phone number and email address
• how and when you would like to be contacted
• any photos you add (please leave out faces, house numbers and anything personal)
• your agreement to these details being used, and when you gave it

How it is used

Only to reply to your request, arrange a visit if the job needs one, and send a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and the legitimate interest of answering enquiries. Your details are not used for marketing and are never sold.

Service providers

• Sanity stores your request (without the photos) so Sam can keep track of it.
• Resend sends the emails: your confirmation, and a copy of your request and photos to Sam.
• Telegram sends Sam an alert with your request and photos.
• Vercel hosts this website.

Each of them processes your details only to provide that service.

How long it is kept

Quote requests are kept for 12 months and then deleted automatically. Photos are not stored by this website: they reach Sam only with the email and Telegram alert. If you become a customer, the records needed for the job, the warranty and the Gas Safe paperwork are kept for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the details held about you, ask for them to be corrected, or ask for them to be deleted. If you are unhappy with how your details have been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

This website doesn't use cookies. Any visitor counts are collected without cookies or tracking.
